New York Governor Kathy Hochul spoke about her vision to create a "transformational" inter-borough train line connecting Brooklyn and Queens–bringing riders from Sunset Park to Jackson Heights in just 40 minutes. The line would connect to as many as 17 subway lines and serve over 900,000 residents. (NBC New York)
  2. NYC public school teachers rallied in Brooklyn on Wednesday calling for a one-week shift to remote learning, along with increased testing of staff and students. One of the protestors was Annie Tan, a special education teacher from Sunset Park. (New York Daily News)
  3. In some optimistic news, some experts predict that the city's Omicron COVID cases will peak this week, and then start declining. Cases appear to be showing signs already of leveling off, and hospitalizations are at less than half of where they were in early 2020. (NYC Patch)
