Motorcyclist Who Died In Brookville Crash Was Glen Cove Man: Update
Nassau County police said Cedar Swamp Road was closed for hours during the accident scene investigation and clean-up.
BROOKVILLE, NY — The 28-year-old who died Thursday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a dump truck on Cedar Swamp Road has been identified as Joffre Sierra-Chalen of Glen Cove, Nassau County police reported in an update.
Detectives said at 5:08 p.m. Sierra-Chalen was headed north on a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle when he struck a 2000 Hino dump truck being operated by a 55-year-old man that was turning onto Cedar Swamp Road from westbound Hemlock Drive.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Jericho Fire Department paramedic. No other injuries were reported, police said.

A safety check was performed on the dump truck at the scene, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
Cedar Swamp Road between Fruitledge Road and Apple Road was closed all evening, reopening after 10 p.m.
