2 Free Rabies Vaccination Clinics Coming To Nassau County
You can make sure your pet's vaccinations are up to date, and keep them and your family safe.
NASSAU COUNTY, NY — The county is partnering with towns to host two rabies clinics for dogs, cats and ferrets.
The Town of Oyster Bay was already planning a free rabies clinic for this weekend. Now, the Town of North Hempstead will be hosting one next month.
“Rabies vaccination for dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets is required by New York State law,” said county Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman. “Making sure your pet has an up-to-date rabies vaccination eliminates the need for them to be euthanized or strictly quarantined for six months in the event your pet comes in contact with animals that are known to carry and transmit the virus. To protect your family and your pets, please check their rabies vaccine status and if not up-to-date, take them to their veterinarian or one of the rabies vaccine clinics in Nassau County this fall.”
