2 Veteran News 12 Personalities Exit The Station

Anchor Elizabeth Hashagen and meteorologist Samantha Augeri posted about their departures on social media.

BETHPAGE, NY — A pair of well-known News 12 personalities have exited the cable news channel.

Anchor Elizabeth Hashagen and meteorologist Samantha Augeri have left the station.

Hashagen posted to Instagram that Thursday was her final day after 25 years at News 12.

While Hashagen said she'll occasionally appear on News 12, "I've chosen to hang up my newsroom badge and leap into life's next big adventure," she said in a video on Instagram.

For nearly two decades, she was part of the News 12 morning news with Carol Silva, Elisa DiStefano and Rich Hoffman.

Holding back tears, Hashhagen said growing up in Freeport, "I dreamed of being a journalist and more than that being your morning anchor."

Hashhagen said, "This isn't goodbye. It is the next chapter."

Augeri, who started at News 12 in 2010, also took to Instagram to announce her departure.

"I can't believe this day is here," she posted. While she called this her "dream job," Augeri also said having a family was a dream.

"My sweet boys are growing at rocket speed, and now it's time for me to spend more evenings with them," she said.
