3,000-Pound Liquid Oxygen Tank Leaks At Woodbury Nursing Home

Officials say police received multiple reports of a high-pitched noise near the nursing home.

WOODBURY, NY — Firefighters were called to a Woodbury nursing home over the weekend after a 3000-pound tank of liquid oxygen leaked at the facility.

Nassau County police were called around 9 p.m. Sunday after receiving calls for a high-pitched noise near Cold Spring Hills Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Woodbury, officials told Patch.

Officers found an oxygen tank leaking at the facility and notified the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department and hazardous materials team with the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office. Technicians found the faulty tank and began repairs.

The scene was turned over to the tank company around 10 p.m. There was no threat to the oxygen supply of the facility.
