OLD WESTBURY, NY — A fundraising gala will take place on Tuesday night in honor of Scott Beigel, a teacher from Long Islander, who was killed in a 2018 Florida high school shooting.

The Scott J. Beigel Memorial Fund casino event celebrates Beigel's legacy and reflects on his "profound influence on at-risk, underserved youth affected by gun violence," the description said.

It takes place at the Old Westbury Country Club.

Dinner, open bar and raffles are part of the evening's agenda. You can register online for the 6th annual benefit, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $375 per person.

Beigel was among 17 people killed when a 19-year-old former student opened fire at Marjory Stoneman High School in Parkland, Florida. It is deadliest mass shooting at a high school in U.S. history.
