Jericho Cares Pres. 'Tirelessly' Helps Neighbors Have Food On Table

JERICHO, NY — Without community leaders, Jericho wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions. This submission comes from Janet Healy, who nominated Francine O’Connor.

How do you know the community leader? Volunteer with her organization

What does the community leader do? She is the president of Jericho Cares, which helps families in need of food in our communities and motel and shelters.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored? She works tirelessly with Jericho Cares helping her neighbors to have food on their tables and clothing for those in need. She runs sneaker, Thanksgiving, Christmas, back-to-school and Easter drives for all of our families, in addition to providing weekly food, appliances and clothing to families in need.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero? In addition to Jericho Cares, she is a community Girl Scout leader and active PTA member.
