Lanes On Westbound LIE To Be Closed Tonight For Construction
The state will be closing multiple lanes on the expressway while crews do bridge maintenance.
SYOSSET, NY — Drivers on the Long Island Expressway tonight may have to make a detour. Multiple lanes of the highway will be closed overnight for road work.
The state Department of Transportation will be closing the right and center lanes of the westbound expressway between Exit 43A (Robbins Lane) and Exit 42 (Northern State Parkway).
The closure will begin at 9:30 p.m. and run until 5 a.m. to allow for bridge maintenance.

Drivers should find an alternate route. If staying on the expressway, remember that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
