• Oyster Bay bar owner indicted after DWI hit and run (longislandpress.com) — A Syosset resident and Oyster Bay bar owner has been indicted on multiple charges tied to a 2025 DWI hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian. Prosecutors say he later returned to his Syosset home, where police found his pickup with evidence from the crash, and he now faces the possibility of significant prison time.
   

• Cops: Philadelphia woman allegedly stole over $150G from 2 Nassau companies (newsday.com) — A Syosset law firm was one of two Nassau County businesses allegedly defrauded of more than $150,000 by a Philadelphia woman, according to police. Investigators say a large check issued by the Syosset firm was altered and deposited into the suspect’s account. The woman was recently arrested and arraigned on identity theft and grand larceny charges, with another court date later this month.
   

• Nurses Reach Tentative Deal With Northwell Hospitals, Including Huntington (huntingtonnow.com) — Nurses at Syosset Hospital, along with Huntington and Plainview, have reached a tentative contract deal with Northwell Health, averting a planned strike that could have disrupted local care. The agreement addresses staffing, safety, and benefits, and led the nurses’ union to withdraw its strike notice so services can continue without interruption.
