SYOSSET, NY — Amid a blood shortage across Long Island, residents can help with the replenishing at a blood drive in Syosset later this month.
The Syosset Fire Department and Deputy Minority Leader Arnold Drucker host the blood drive on Thursday, Feb. 27.
It takes place from 1-7 p.m. at the Syosset Fire Department. All donors will receive a free t-shirt.

Walk-ins are welcome, but appointed are preferred. You can schedule your slot by calling 516-790-1644 and asking for Sharon.
With blood donations down by 30 percent, the New York Blood Center declared a blood emergency last month.
