SYOSSET, NY — Syosset High School senior Ethan Chiu has been named as a finalist for the National Honor Society Scholarship.

Chiu, who was also a 2022 Regeneron Finalist and a US Presidential Scholar Candidate, is one of 25 finalists selected out of thousands of applicants nationwide. Each NHS Scholarship finalist receives approximately $5,600 in college scholarship for the school of their choice. Chiu and SHS’s NHS Advisor Kayla McGrath will be attending the NHS’ National Student Leadership Week in April, where the National Winner will be announced and will receive a $25,000 scholarship.

NHS Scholarship finalists and semi-finalists are selected based on their demonstrated commitment to the four pillars of the NHS: scholarship, service, leadership and character. Approximately 600 NHS graduating seniors are awarded scholarships every year.
