St. Edward Catholic School Holding Open House On Feb. 4

Named the Best Catholic School on Long Island four times, the school is opening its doors to interested families.

SYOSSET, NY — St. Edward the Confessor Catholic School in Syosset will join 35 other Catholic schools across Long Island to celebrate Catholic Schools Week, and hold an open house on Feb. 4.

Founded in 1961, St. Edward the Confessor School provides Catholic education for students up through grade 8. St. Edwards became the first Catholic elementary school on Long Island to partner with the local public school district to house a universal pre-kindergarten program.

The school has been named the Best Catholic School on Long Island in the Best of Long Island Awards four times: in 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023. And Vincent Albrecht, the principal, has been named the Best School Principal on Long Island in 2017, 2018 and 2023.

St. Edward will be holding an open house on Feb. 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will also hold ongoing Tuesday open houses throughout February and March, from 10 a.m. to noon.

During the open houses, parents can meet faculty and staff, tour classrooms and the school, learn about the school's programs and extracurriculars, learn about financial resources and get admissions information.

St. Edward serves students from Syosset, Woodbury, Bethpage, Farmingdale, Hicksville, Levittown, East Meadow, Oyster Bay, Glen Cove, South Huntington and Plainview.
