Syosset Seniors Honored For Outstanding Achievements In Phys Ed
The two seniors were recognized by a state organization for their accomplishments.

SYOSSET, NY — Syosset High School seniors Angelo Fasano and Eleni Kaouris were recognized for their outstanding achievement in physical education by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NYSAHPERD).
The two received medals at NYSAHPERD’s annual Nassau Zone awards ceremony held at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Dec. 5.
Both Fasano and Kaouris were nominated by members of the Syosset High School Physical Education Department. To be considered for this honor, candidates needed to demonstrate the following criteria:

- A physically active lifestyle, both during and outside school;
- responsible personal and social behavior, including good sportsmanship, character, civility, and citizenship;
- leadership and being a positive influence on their peers;
- valuing a healthy lifestyle and lifelong learning;
- exceptional achievement in Physical Education class;
- a high level of fitness on an approved fitness test.
The two were accompanied at the award ceremony by their physical education teacher Dean Strohmayer and Scott Stueber, director of physical education, athletics and recreation.
