Fuel Spills Onto L.I.E. After Tractor-Trailer Collides With Vehicle

A driver was injured in the crash, and the fuel spill had to be contained on Monday morning.

JERICHO, NY — Fuel spilled onto the Long Island Expressway after a tractor-trailer and vehicle collided in Jericho on Monday morning, Nassau police said.

A tractor-trailer heading west near Exit 41N lost control and collided with a passenger vehicle at 6:17 a.m., police said. Fuel spilled onto the expressway, prompting a response from the Nassau County’s Emergency Service Unit, Jericho firefighters and the Department of Transportation.

The driver of the passenger vehicle suffered minor injuries and was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment and evaluation, police said.
