Zombie Home Demolished In Syosset After Years Of Neglect
"This structure was in very poor condition after being left abandoned and falling into state of disrepair," Supervisor Saldino said.
SYOSSET, NY — Town of Oyster Bay officials announced the demolition of a dilapidated zombie home on Ann Drive in Syosset.
The neglected property was recently granted for demolition following years of neglect and complaints from neighbors.
“This structure was in very poor condition after being left abandoned and falling into a severe and significant state of disrepair. The Town received numerous complaints from neighbors concerning the condition of the property, and inspectors found various signs of neglect in violation of Town Code,” said Supervisor Joseph Saladino. “The interior was filthy throughout, with signs of leaks and extensive damages, leaving it unsanitary and uninhabitable. After earning court approval, we removed this neighborhood eyesore and are paving the way for a new home in our community.”
