3 Youths Threw Rocks At Cars On Sprain Brook Parkway: NYSP

Police said there were more than a dozen reports of damaged vehicles.

GREENBURGH, NY — Three young people were accused of throwing rocks at cars traveling on the Sprain Brook Parkway, damaging more than a dozen.

The New York State Police said there were 16 complaints of damaged vehicles that were received beginning shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Law enforcement said the damage from the rocks ranged from flat tires to smashed windshields.

The trio threw the rocks while standing next to the guiderail on the parkway near where it goes over Payne Street, a police spokesman told Patch.

Three juveniles were arrested Wednesday. The underlying charges are first-degree reckless endangerment, felonies.

The young people were each issued a Family Court appearance ticket before they were released to their parents, police said.
