BJ's Wholesale Club Coming To Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, NY — A membership wholesale club will be coming to the town of Greenburgh.

In an email to the community, Supervisor Paul Feiner said the town was recently told that Crossroad Shopping Center will be filling the former Kmart space with a BJ's Wholesale Club.

"It will be the first in the center since the closure of Waldbaum's in 2012 to offer a wide range of food products (fresh produce, meats, refrigerated, frozen foods, beverages, bakery, etc.), in addition to a wide variety of non-food goods," he said.

Some BJ's locations have discount gas stations on site. Feiner told Patch they didn't ask for one at the Greenburgh location.

He said that BJ's website indicates that frequently groceries sell up to 25 percent off grocery store prices.

"Many residents of Fairview who live near the Crossroads Shopping Center have asked in the past for a store that will sell groceries at this location," Feiner said.

"Having a BJ's at this location will be helpful to seniors who live on or off of Manhattan Avenue and who don't have cars," he said.

Feiner said the wholesale club should be a quality of life enhancement and will help residents save money on groceries and other items.

He said he was encouraged by the center adding the wholesale club and the recently filled or soon-to-be filled vacancies.

A new addition is the PG Tour Superstore and upcoming additions include Phenix Salon Suites and Duck Donuts.

The BJ's store is anticipated to start construction soon, Feiner said, with a targeted opening at the end of the year.

Currently operating BJ's Wholesale Clubs in the lower Hudson Valley include ones in West Nyack, Pelham Manor and Yorktown Heights.
