Man Accused Of Trying To Kill Ex-Girlfriend In Sleepy Hollow
The Westchester County district attorney said the man is facing six felony counts, including attempted murder.

SLEEPY HOLLOW, NY — A man in Sleepy Hollow was accused of trying to kill his ex-girlfriend.
Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah announced Friday that Ruben Santiago, 38, was arrested Jan. 3 by the Sleepy Hollow Police Department.
He was charged with second-degree attempted murder, first-degree attempted assault, second-degree assault, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and aggravated criminal contempt, all felonies.

Santiago, who doesn’t have a full-time place of residence, was sent to the Westchester County Jail. His next court date is set for Jan. 22.
Police said, around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 2 Santiago, in violation of an order of protection, forcibly entered the Sleepy Hollow home of his ex-girlfriend and shot her with a .38 caliber revolver.

The woman who suffered gunshot wounds to her neck and hand and is being treated at an area hospital, police said.
Rocah thanked the Sleepy Hollow Police Department for its efforts in locating and arresting the man as swiftly as possible.
“We will do everything we can do to support this victim who survived terrifying violence allegedly inflicted by a former intimate partner,” she said.
Sleepy Hollow police conducted the investigation, with the assistance of the FBI’s Westchester Safe Streets Task Force, Westchester County’s Real Time Crime Center, the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force, the New York Police Department and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.
