Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Ways To Honor, Celebrate
There are still opportunities to volunteer as a way to honor King's memory on the national holiday.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — With Martin Luther King Jr. Day coming up soon, there are still opportunities to honor his life by volunteering.
LIFE Progressive Services Group Inc. is seeking 2023 MLK Day Painting Volunteers.
The group provides re-entry and transitional programs for former incarcerated men and women, as well as food distribution for the community at large.

To celebrate the spirit of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the group is hosting a painting project during which volunteers will paint three basement offices to help the organization look fresh for its guest.
Organizers said no experience is required, but volunteers should wear clothing and shoes that can get dirty. Refreshments will be served.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16 in Mount Vernon.
