Money Names Greenburgh 1 Of 10 Best Places To Live In Northeast

The supervisor for the town said the ranking will help new residents and attract vibrant businesses.

GREENBURGH, NY — The town of Greenburgh was named one of the 10 best places to live in the Northeast, according to Money magazine.

The Westchester County town was ranked No. 8 on Money’s list, along with one other New York town: North Hempstead in Nassau County.

Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner was excited to hear about the town’s ranking.

“This will help encourage potential residents to want to move to Greenburgh,” he said, “should help us attract vibrant businesses to the town and will make our town employees proud to be part of a town recognized as among the best of the best.”

To come up with rankings, Money collected about 350 pieces of data on each place in the Northeast and grouped them into categories, including cost of living, diversity and economic opportunity.

The magazine focused on places with populations of at least 50,000 in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. The ranking was limited to one place per county and two places per state.

  4. Nashua, New Hampshire
  5. Brookline, Massachusetts
  6. North Hempstead, New York

  8. Greenburgh, New York
  9. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  10. Portland, Maine
