No License, Registration, Insurance; No Car
Sleepy Hollow Police arrested one woman for having no paperwork on her car, and recovery specialists came to take another car away.
The "Bounty Hunter" recovery specialists came into police headquarters on Dec. 1 at 3:15 p.m. to report the repossession of a car from Barnhardt Avenue. The recovery specialists told police the owner was reportedly on the scene and turned the car over without incident.
Chief Gregory Camp explained the name; they aren’t really bounty hunters, he said, that’s just the very effective title of their company.
“We see that all the time,” he said of car recoveries in the Village, saying that a bank or a dealership just “want their car back.”

On Dec. 5, a 24-year-old Sleepy Hollow woman was charged by police on Lawrence Avenue for driving an uninsured car with a suspended driver’s license and a suspended vehicle registration. The car was towed and the woman transported to headquarters for booking.
