Obituary: Michael Dominic Bucciarelli, Age 67

Michael Dominic Bucciarelli, age 67, of Milford, Connecticut, passed on Oct. 19, 2022, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Cynthia, daughter, Kathryn Denno (Daniel), son, Michael Dominic Jr., grandchildren, Joy, Hosanna, Emery, and Baby-to-be Denno, sisters, Mary Ann Edwards (nee Bucciarelli), Patricia Pavone, Marisa LaRocca, brothers, David Pavone, Joseph Pavone, brother-in-law, Lou Casolo (Suzanne), sister-in-law, Tara Boogaerts (Pieter), numerous nieces and nephews, additional family members, many lifelong friends, colleagues, sports comrades and four-legged pal, Fanny.

He is preceded in death by his father, Angelo Bucciarelli Jr., mother, Elaine Pavone (nee DeVeaugh) and sister, Ann Lindsay (nee Bucciarelli).

He was born in Mt. Vernon, NY, grew up in Elmsford, NY, and graduated from Pocantico Hills School and Sleepy Hollow High School. Michael was a retired Special Education teacher and beloved coach at Stamford High School. He earned his B.S. at SUNY Brockport, his Masters at New Rochelle College, and his 092 Certification and Sixth Year at SCSU. He also served as Archery counselor at Long Ridge Camp.

He and Cynthia enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family and cherished friends at local beaches and restaurants. He was also an avid fan of the Yankees, Raiders and Rangers.

Michael was an inspiration to many people he met during his life. He appreciated meeting new people from all walks of life and found sharing viewpoints and trivial tidbits of information a great way to get to know a person better.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Nov. 19, 2022, Grace Baptist Church, 400 Burnt Plains Road, Milford, CT.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Branford Connecticut Hospice.
