Police: Attempted Burglary on White Plains Rd

Tarrytown Police responded to an apartment where a resident claimed to see a man run from his home.

A caller to the Tarrytown Police Department reported an alleged attempted burglary in a White Plains Road apartment.

Officers on scene said the attempted burglary occurred on Nov. 24 around 6:30 to 6:45 p.m. and was interrupted by the caller and a friend. The suspect was described as a man, approximately 5’9” in height, wearing a black jacket.

The suspect apparently fled on food northbound from the home toward a white car. Detectives searched the area and found nothing.

The tenant and friend told police they had entered the apartment and heard a door slam. They reported seeing the man fleeing outside, said Herguth, “but in essence they did not see a person from inside the place.”
