Recently, Pauline Mosley and I
started a new cable TV show -Solving Problems. Periodically we will be sharing
info that can help residents overcome stresses and challenges.
You may find the interview
with Peter Ciszewski of Hastings on Hudson very interesting
-especially if you or a friend/relative suffers from a rare illness. Mr.
Ciszewski manages a website Checkrare.com that helps people who have rare
illnesses. The you tube interview about his site can be found below.
A rare condition is defined as a
disorder that affects less than 200,000 people in the United States.
There are about 10,000 rare disorders and counting For patients who have
one of these 10,000 disorders a rare disease is an affliction that
does not seem rare because they must manage it every day. For physicians
a rare disease is often a medical anomaly. They don't see these disorders often
so they are often overlooked, misunderstood.

The owners of this site have
decades of professional and personal experiences in rare diseases and health
care publishing and communications. They interview experts, publish original
content and communicate with patients. I hope that this
information will help some Greenburgh residents have a better quality of life
and improved health.
