Woman Reports Two-Time Theft of Thick Wallet
A woman carrying lots of cash on two different occasions reported to Tarrytown Police that the same suspect twice stole her purse.
A woman reported to Tarrytown Police that on Nov. 13 around 11 a.m. she believed a woman of slim build in her 60s stole her pocketbook containing $1,200 cash.
The complainant said she was at the bus stop on Cortlandt Street just north of the Tarrytown Metro-North Station when this reportedly happened.
She also said that in another incident, on Nov. 21 around noon, the very same woman stole her purse, this time containing $600, from her pocketbook while she was in line at the C-Town grocery store.

The woman told police she did not directly observe the suspect in the act and did not discover the missing money until later. She just noticed that this particular woman was in her vicinity on both occasions. Police told her to call them back if she was able to identify this woman.
Lieutenant William Herguth said police haven’t been able to “go any further” with this case. There were no witnesses and police unable to see anything that happened on surveillance tape at the grocery store. He also said police found the complainant to be sound of mind and had no reason to question her story.
