Comments: Christian Avenue Signs Likely About Potholes

Those who commented on Facebook believe the poor road conditions led to the posting of the unusual signs.

As the mystery continues over who posted the "Welcome to Christian Avenue" and "Enter at Your Own Risk" signs in two locations on Christian Avenue, our commenters on the Three Village Patch Facebook page believe they know that person's motive: poor conditions on the historic street.

Milinda Watson-Carman offered this hypothesis: "I walk clients' dogs on Christian, I assume it's [because people] drive way too fast, horrible pot holes and there's not a side walk in some parts."

Nancy Goroff said, "The potholes are incredibly bad now. Whoever put it there, the sign is quite accurate."

Douglas Adams called the road "a mine field from end-to-end," while Drew Biondo said it "could be a testing ground for Army tanks, the ruts and holes are so bad."

Lori Warren Monopoli blamed it on the potholes, too. "[Christian Avenue] is in the worst shape EVER. I avoid it like the plague. I know four people who got flat tires from it."

That was Del Ross's experience too, after getting an estimate to fix tires that had sustained pothole damage. "Very frustrating! Sign was funny," he said.

Others suggested alternate reasons.

"Halloween already?" asked Rita Wiedersum.

Helayne Winograd suggested: "I'm gonna guess – and say either sink hole or registered sex offender. I know – a wide range."

But many agreed that the signs are humorous.

"I think it's funny!" said Sheryl Selena Freed. "Zombies perhaps?"
