- Emma Clark Library is participating in "The Great Give Back" campaign. This year, the initiative will benefit our four-legged friends, so if you want to donate a dog/cat toy, food, blanket, or leashes, please, drop the items off at the library's lobby in October. (Emma Clark Library)
- For those registering to vote online, via mail or in person, the deadline is Friday, Oct. 14. Ballots can be requested by mail until Monday, Oct. 24. Early voting starts on Oct. 29, to Nov. 6. To register online, visit: New York online voter registration. (LI News 12)

- Staller Center has released its fall schedule with three big names coming to Stony Brook. Among them are the prestigious Peking Acrobats from the Shanghai Circus, entertaining audiences worldwide for 30 years. The group will take on the center's stage on Friday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here. (Greater Long Island)
