Here are the top four stories today in Three Village:

  1. Setauket Harbor Day is set for Saturday, Oct. 1. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The harbor will be celebrated at the Brookhaven Town Dock and Beach on Shore Road. The event features free kayak lessons, music, food and more hosted by the Setauket Harbor Task Force. (All Events)
  2. This was a particular month for students at the Minnesauke Elementary School as they brought home the Emma Cup. The award was given because the school had the most students signed up for the Emma Clark Library reading summer program, Ocean of Possibilities.

  3. The Heritage Park Carnival kicks off on Sept. 30. For those looking forward to celebrating the new season, the Fall into Fun community outdoor fun goes until Oct. 2. at 633 Mount Sinai Coram Road. (TBR News Media)
  4. The LIRR trains will have its own police. The decision was made due to increased crime at stations raising concerns among riders and staff. Metropolitan Transportation Authority Police Commissioner John Mueller presented the new train patrol unit at an MTA Board meeting. (Patch)
