Here are the top stories today in Three Village:
- The American Airpower Museum (AAM) will hold its annual Winter Hangar Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Dec. 12, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Come and participate in a fun community event for the entire family. Hangar 3 will be decked out with Christmas-themed decorations plus there will be photo opportunities with Santa all day! Parents and children will enjoy hot pancakes with butter, maple syrup, sausages and beverages. The AAM Holiday Train will also take adults and kids for rides around the Hangar’s ramp, weather permitting. (LongIsland.com)
- A holiday tradition is returning to Long Island this weekend as The Village of Port Jefferson transforms into the Charles Dickens Festival. The festival is back for a 25th year after being canceled in 2020. The two-day event draws in thousands of people and kicks off Saturday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m., and runs until 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5. Some of the activities at the event include concerts, skating, and horse and carriage rides. (News 12 Westchester)
- An Amazon Fresh Grocery Store is expected to soon fill the vacancy Waldbaum’s left behind in Setauket’s Suffolk Plaza six years ago. An application filed by Amazon Retail LLC with the New York State Liquor Authority to sell beer and wine in a grocery store confirms the Amazon Fresh location at Suffolk Plaza on Nesconset Highway. (Greater Long Island)
- Police say four people were injured in a four-vehicle crash in Copiague on Wednesday night. According to police, the driver of an SUV hit a vehicle in front of him on Great Neck Road near Dixon Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. That crash caused a chain reaction, involving a total of four vehicles. In a video, the SUV can be seen off the road and slammed into a cement stoop outside a home. The SUV then burst into flames. (News12)

- Despite an outpouring of calls from residents and activists to block any future development at Remington Woods, the Planning & Zoning Commission this week adopted new regulations allowing the private owner to instead pursue an office park while saving open space. (Fairfield Citizen)
- Caroline Simmons was sworn in Wednesday as Stamford’s mayor, becoming the first woman to take the city’s highest office. The day was marked by two ceremonies: one just after midnight at Simmons’ home and another in the mid-morning at the Stamford Government Center. (The Advocate)
- Zest opened in Suffolk County on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 298 West Main St. in Bay Shore.
Chef Michael Liebman, the owner, said since the eatery opened not long before Thanksgiving, business was slow at first, but things have picked up. (Northern Highlands Daily Voice)
