Here are the top stories today in Three Village:

  1. Police say the body of a missing mother from Centereach has been found in the woods in Middle Island and her husband was arrested. Melissa Molinari was last seen on Nov. 21 at her home. The 43-year-old mother of four was not reported missing until last Thursday, Dec. 2. Police said they found her body in the Rocky Point Barrens State Forest off Currans Road in Middle Island. Her husband, Marcello Molinari, is now under arrest and charged with second-degree murder. So far, police have not released any other details about this case. (News12)
  2. Smithtown Township Arts Council is pleased to announce that the works of Nesconset artist Catherine Rezin will be on view Dec. 20– Feb. 17, 2022, at Apple Bank of Smithtown, 91 Route 111, Smithtown. The exhibition, part of STAC’s Outreach Gallery Program, can be viewed during regular banking hours. (smithtownmatters.com)
  3. Before each game, the Stony Brook University women’s basketball team meditates.
    The pre-game ritual, among other changes and additions first-year Coach Ashley Langford instituted, has worked, as the team has a 7-1 record and sits first in the America East division. (TBRNews)

The Three Village Holiday Electric Parade returns to Setauket on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. Celebrating its 25th year, the parade will take place along Main Street/ Route 25A and feature festive holiday floats to kick off the season. Presented by the Stony Brook Rotary Club, this year’s Grand Marshal will be David Prestia. The Setauket Firehouse will host pre-parade festivities at 4 p.m. with music and performances by Ward Melville High School students and Shine Dance Studio with complimentary cookies, hot chocolate, candy canes and glow sticks.
