  1. Three Village Chamber of Commerce invites all members and nonmembers for a full breakfast followed by the seminar, "PSEG-LI- Lowering Energy Cost is Critical." The event will be held on Wednesday, May 18, at 8:15 a.m. at the Rustic Loft in Stony Brook. Tickets are $20 per person. (Three Village CofC)
  2. Monday at Racine Cancer Care salon is calling small businesses in the Three Village area and surroundings to donate to the cause. The salon is open on the fourth Monday of every month. Donations can be a food tray, baked goods, flowers, or anything you can provide to be a gift to our visitors undergoing cancer treatment. For more information about how to donate, call 631-374-6397.   3. Long Island Museum Executive Director Neil Watson announced his plans to retire in October 2022. Watson dedicated nine years of leadership to the museum organizing educational programs, award-winning ceremonies, and other events to increase museum membership. (tbrnewsmedia)
  4. Simons Foundation gifted Stony Brook University with $56.6 million in grants to be invested in STEM careers to benefit underrepresented students. As a result, the university announced the creation of 50 scholarships with an expanding potential. (Patch)
  5. Nearby News: First responders rescued three dogs and multiple cats from a home that broke into flames in Shirley. On Thursday, the fire happened at Probst Drive at 1:15 p.m. Firefighters broke through a glass door to rescue the pets hiding under furniture. Police confirm all animals were brought to safety.
