- Stony Brook medical student, a Ukraine native, wants to host fundraisers to help the country. Halyna Krylyuk set up a GoFundMe page that had already collected $5,000 for "Razom," an organization that delivers medical aid in Ukraine. (News12)
- Emma Clark Memorial Library invites you to participate in the "Songbirds of Long Island."
Tuesday, May 3, at 7 p.m. Dianne Taggart (long time LI birder) will use pictures and recordings to teach about Long Island bird songs. (ECML) - Sunrise Senior Living, located at 1 Sunrise Drive, East Setauket, will host a Meet and Greet Barbecue for the community. The event is free of charge and will be held on May 11 from noon to 5 p.m. (Port Jefferson CofC)
- Nearby News: A group of protesters gathered in front of the Tikki's bar in Patchogue to protest against the bar's advertisement for the Cinco de Mayo events. The Latino community claims the flyer was racist and wanted to boycott the event. Owner Michael Bruemmer said the ad was humorous and did not intend to offend any group. (News12)
