- Ward Melville hosted a cancer awareness softball game on Saturday in honor of 7-year-old Jase Rossi, who has been battling cancer. The event raises $3,795 in online donations. The money will go to the Friends of Karen, supporting families with children fighting against life-threatening diseases. (tbrnewsmedia)
- Stony Brook professor and urban planner Lee Koppelman passed away last month at 94. Among his achievements in his career, he helped Suffolk County be the first local government to develop a program that preserves land by buying developmental rights. (The Statesman)
