WATCH: Harlem Wizards Make Magical Night for Minnesauke Kids
Event raised about $1,500 for activities at Minnesauke Elementary.
The Harlem Wizards brought their own special brand of magic to Gelinas Junior High on Tuesday night, dazzling the kids and families of Minnesauke Elementary with their "trick hoops and alley oops." They took on the "Minnesauke All-Stars," a team made up of school faculty members. The event was sold out with about 575 kids and parents in attendance, according to Minnesauke PTA President Angelique Ragolia. "It was hugely successful and everybody had a completely fun, amazing time," she said, giving credit to parent chairperson Grace Fastenberg for putting it together and giving special thanks to the Minnesauke faculty for being so supportive. The event raised about $1,500, which will go towards activities for Minnesauke kids. But, Ragolia said, PTA activities aren't always about fundraising. "What better way to spend a fun night than with your school friends and families," she said, and added that she hopes the Harlem Wizards will come back next year too.
