$1,000 Stolen In Robbery Near UES Subway: Police
A man was robbed on the Upper East Side after an early morning subway ride, the NYPD said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY – A 54-year-old man was followed and robbed after exiting the subway early Thursday morning, police said.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., the victim got off of the train near E. 60th Street and Fifth Avenue, according to police.
He was followed by an unknown man who shoved him to the ground and took $1,000 from his wallet before fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in stable condition.
The N/R/W subway station at Fifth Avenue and 59th Street is on a tony block: the Metropolitan Club, The Pierre, and Avra Madison are each only steps away.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
