Dylan's Candy Bar To Become Shades Flagship On UES Corner: Report
The former flashy candy shop is set to become a new flagship location for a Canadian shades behemoth.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A shady business is moving into the former home of the Upper East Side's sweetest destination, according to reports.
Blinds to Go, a Canadian-based chain, has signed a lease to occupy the former sugary home of Dylan's Candy Bar at 1011 Third Ave., on the corner of East 60th Street, reports the New York Post.
The deal for the 11,000-square-foot, three-story space is for a 15-year lease, according to the Post, and will be a flagship location for the chain store.

“Blinds to Go has dozens of stores in the US, including in Brooklyn," Current Real Estate Advisors co-founder Adam Henick, who represented Blinds to Go in the deal, told the Post, "and were waiting patiently for the right opportunity for their Manhattan flagship.”
This will be Blinds to Go's first Manhattan store. Currently, the chain has locations in Gowanus, Brooklyn and in Rego Park, Queens.

Dylan's Candy Bar closed in early 2021 — one of the many pandemic-era retail casualties in the neighborhood.
Dylan Lauren, daughter of the designer Ralph Lauren, opened the Upper East Side shop in 2001 — the first location in a chain that has since spread to five cities.
In its 20-year tenure on the East Side, the shop's towering candy bins and colorful lollipop decor have made it a popular spot for birthday parties and a destination for tourists.
