UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Dozens of galleries along Madison Avenue will throw open their doors to art lovers this weekend as the corridor's annual Fall Gallery Walk returns.

Saturday's free event will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with nearly 60 participating between East 57th and 86th streets, along Madison and some adjacent side streets, organizers say.

Highlights include free talks by artists and curators at more than 20 galleries — timeslots can be booked online.

The biggest institution to join the festivities will be Frick Madison — the temporary home of the under-renovation Frick Collection, at the former Met Breuer building — which is hosting a free outdoor sketching event from 1-3 p.m. in front of its building at 945 Madison Ave.

The many exhibitions on view Saturday include a show of the artist Merrill Wagner at David Zwirrner gallery; Tom Sachs's "Spaceships" at Acquavella; and a show of paintings by queer artists David Hockney, Kudzanai-Violet Hwami, Etel Adnan and Doron Langberg at LGDR.

The Reka Darida Foundation's Tulipan Gallery will showcase 15 artists of the Hungarian craft movement, backed by Hungarian folk music, and the kinetic sculptor Susumu Shingu will be on hand for a new exhibition of his work at Ippodo Gallery.

As usual, the Gallery Walk was organized by the Madison Avenue B.I.D., along with ARTNews.
