Trevon Murphy has admitted to stabbing three unhoused New Yorkers in 2022, one of whom died from their injures, prosecutors said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The man accused of stabbing three homeless New Yorkers, including a man sleeping in an Upper East Side Playground and another who died in the West Village, has pleaded guilty to the crime, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Trevon Murphy pleaded guilty to one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder and will face a sentence of 30 years-to-life in state prison, prosecutors said.
“Trevon Murphy brutally murdered one unhoused individual and critically injured two others in a series of late-night attacks,” said Manhattan District Attorney Bragg. “Those who are unhoused already face extreme hardships and vulnerability, and their safety should not be in jeopardy.”
