Hammer-Wielding Man Using Anti-Gay Language Menaces Men On UES: Cops
Police are looking for a hammer-carrying man who menaced two men near Central Park, according to the NYPD.

UPPER EAST SIDE — Hate, unfortunately, does not sleep in the Big Apple. Two men were menaced by a man with a hammer who made anti-gay statements on the Upper East Side, according to the NYPD.
The two men, both in their 50s, were followed near East 63rd Street and 5th Avenue on June 25 about 2:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.
The suspect carried a hammer, used anti-gay language and then fled in Central Park, said police.

No one was hurt during the encounter, which is being investigated by the NYPD Hate Crime Task Force, police said.
The NYPD released images of a suspect late Wednesday night and asked anyone with information to contact police.
