Here's Which Iconic NYC Eateries Are Opening Kiosks In JFK Airport

It's about to feel very first-class at Terminal 4.

QUEENS, NY — The newly expanded Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy Airport is getting a fresh roster of food and drink options for hungry travelers, and all the new kiosks are New York icons in their own right.

The new arrivals include Boqueria, the tapas bar with locations on the Upper East Side, Midtown and Soho, the fast-casual Mexican mainstay Dos Toros Taqueria, as well as Villa Russo Café, a Queens-based family-owned Italian American eatery.

The downtown Italian emporium Eataly is also landing at the terminal soon, along with Bessou, a Japanese comfort food restaurant on Pier 57, and Fieldtrip, a Harlem-based restaurant focused on global cuisines, in addition to Brooklyn Tea & Market and Chopt, the Manhattan-born salad concept.

The terminal has also landed a contract with the James Beard Foundation's "Good to Go," a fast-casual concept that brings in James Beard-approved chefs to create rotating menus, also in New York City's Pier 57. The first menu in JFK's location will be from New York’s popular Due Madri.

“Terminal 4’s lineup of appealing, iconic local brands will help to create a travel experience that is unique to New York," Rick Cotton, the executive director of Port Authority, which operates the airport, said.

The company that oversees dining at JFK airport, HMSHost, has also formed joint-venture partnerships with a few other local businesses that are smaller in scale and disadvantaged in the increasingly corporate New York City market. This program is designed to mentor these local businesses and take them to the next level.

This roster includes favorites like Harlem-based Sugar Hill Creamery, Queens-based Kismet Cocktails and Fresco’s Cantina, Manhattan-based Kintaro Foods and Tamalito, and many more.

“I'm thrilled that so many businesses based in Queens and throughout New York City will be offering delicious food and beverages at JFK's Terminal 4," Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. said. "These concession opportunities will also give a big boost the local economy and create incredible job opportunities for Queens residents."
