According to officials, workers said a man — known to employees as a habitual shoplifter — entered the store empty handed, but tried to exit with a sweet treat without paying.
The man whipped out a boxcutter when confronted by a worker, police said, and fled the store.

Police said a subsequent search for the crook was negative, but confirmed the stolen item was a Rice Crispy Treat.
On Sunday, a man at the same CVS store pulled a knife and threatened to slash a worker when his thievery was interrupted, police said.
In that robbery, the man stole a Godiva chocolate treat and a Hallmark bag, officials added on Wednesday.
While the description of the crooks is similar — a male around 30-years-old — police said a positive identification has yet to be made to officially determine if both sweet tooth robberies were done by the same treat-obsessed fiend.
