Man Gropes Child In Central Park, Police Say

The NYPD is searching for a man who groped a 9-year-old girl inside the Manhattan park on Memorial Day.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — A man is wanted on sex abuse charges for groping a young girl in Central Park on Memorial Day, an NYPD spokesperson said.

The unknown man approach a 9-year-old girl within the park on the East Drive near East 75th Street on Monday afternoon and grabbed her from behind, police said. The man was able to flee the park and avoid arrest, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Police released a sketch of the man they are looking for on Wednesday. Investigators described the man as being in his 20s, standing about 5-fooot-7 to 5-foot-9 and weighing around 150 to 160 pounds.
