Man Randomly Shoved Onto Upper East Side Subway Tracks, Police Say
Police shared video showing a man accused of pushing an innocent bystander onto the tracks at a Lenox Hill subway station this week.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man randomly pushed a fellow straphanger onto the tracks at an Upper East Side subway station this week, according to police, who released images showing the suspect.
Monday's attack at the 77th Street-Lexington Avenue 6 train station happened shortly before 9 p.m., according to police.
A witness told cops he was standing on the uptown platform when he saw the suspect push another man from the platform onto the tracks, unprovoked, police said Thursday.

Onlookers helped pull the man off the tracks and onto the platform, police said. He had only scratches and bruising, and declined medical attention at the scene.

The suspect fled the station after the shove, police said. Police described him as a man in his 30s, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build and a bald head.

Police on Thursday released surveillance video showing the suspect walking briskly out of the subway station.
He was last seen wearing a tan sweater, dark pants, a blue-and-yellow jacket,a white face mask, a black sneaker on his right foot and a black-and-white sneaker on his left foot, police said.
