Marathon Runner Rushed To Hospital Near UES Course: FDNY
A runner — less than three miles from the finish line — was rushed to a hospital after a medical emergency on Fifth Avenue, officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A marathon runner suffered a medical emergency during the closing stretch of the New York City Marathon along Fifth Avenue on Sunday, officials said.
At around noon, first responders received a call of a runner on Fifth Avenue and East 97th Street experiencing a medical emergency, fire officials told Patch.
While the runner was less than three miles away from the finish line, they were luckily just steps from Mount Sinai Hospital, where first responder rushed the injured person, according to a FDNY spokesperson.

Official had no other details to offer about the runner or their condition.
