Moped Crooks Rob, Injure Upper East Side Woman In Purse Snatch: Police
A 63-year-old woman was injured when robbers on a moped ripped her purse from her shoulder on Friday, officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side woman was knocked to the ground when moped-mounted marauders ripped her purse from her shoulder on Friday evening, according to police.
The brutal moped-powered robbery occurred as a 63-year-old woman stood near the northeast corner of East 72nd Street and Third Avenue at about 10 p.m., police said.
Two crooks on a moped rode up from behind and ripped a purse from the woman's left shoulder, police said, sending her falling to the sidewalk.

Police said the woman suffered bruises to her knee and shoulder.
The two men fled on their gas-powered moped, but police said they later recovered the woman's bag and phone in front of an East 85th Street building between Second and Third avenues.

Officials offered no description of the suspects other than saying they rode a dark-colored scooter.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
