Moped Driver Killed In Early AM Wrong-Way UES Collision: Police
A driver on a moped in Yorkville was killed when he struck a box truck while traveling the wrong way on on East 94th Street, cops said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A moped driver was killed after an early morning wrong-way collision with a truck in Yorkville, according to police.
At around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, two men on a moped were driving against traffic on East 94th Street when they collided with a box truck near Second Avenue, officials said.
The moped driver was critically injured and was pronounced dead at New York Presbyterian-Weil Cornell Medical Center, police said.

The passenger on the moped was injured as well but in stable condition, police said, while the driver of the truck was uninjured.
Police shut down multiple blocks of Second Avenue this morning for the investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad, according to police and images from social media.
