Moped Muggers Fire Gun Near JG Melon In Failed UES Watch Nab: Police
A pair of armed crooks tried to mug a man waiting for a table outside of an iconic Upper East Side burger joint.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A pair of armed crooks on a moped fired a gun outside of an iconic Upper East Side burger joint over the weekend in a failed robbery attempt, according to police.
As a 22-year-old waited for a table outside of top-rated burger spot JG Melon on Saturday at 4 p.m., two men suddenly appeared, police said.
One of the two unknown men pulled out a gun and demanded the young man's watch, according to authorities.

The hungry man refused to hand it over and a fight broke out, police said, and the would-be crooks fired their gun.
Officials said that only one shot was fired and nobody was hit by the bullet.

The dangerous duo then fled the scene on a moped, traveling against traffic down Third Avenue to parts unknown, police said.
