New Greek Spot Mykonian House Opens On Upper East Side
Announced a year ago, the eatery is now open for fans of traditional Greek seafood dishes.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Fans of spanakopita take notice: a new Greek spot with an Upper East Side pedigree is now open for all who want to say "yassou."
Mykonian House, a new traditional Greek restaurant, is finally open a year after the spot was first announced.
Located at 25 East 83rd St., near Madison Avenue, Mykonian House takes over the former home of the late Italian spot, Giovanni.

The menu will feature authentic and traditional Greek cuisine, according to the restaurant. Specialties will include spanakopita, of course, but also classics like shrimp saganaki, chicken souvlaki and karidopita.
Mykonian House will also lean heavily into the strong arsenal of Greek seafood dishes, offering a selection of fish directly from Greece. Early online reviews already praise their tsipoura and lavraki.

A lunch prix fixe menu will include two courses, including dessert, for $35.
Its owner, Alina Borys, is new to the restaurant industry, but has brought in Gregory Politis — a former co-owner of Korali on Third Avenue and Yefsi on York Avenue — to oversee day-to-day operations, according to a presentation made to Community Board 8 last fall.
