Person Fatally Struck By Train On Upper East Side, MTA Says
A person was hit in the tunnels between 68th and 86th Street stations on the Lexington Avenue line.
UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A person was hit and killed by a train Friday afternoon on the Upper East Side, MTA officials said.
The person, who was not identified, was struck in the express tunnels on the Lexington Avenue line, transit officials said. An FDNY spokesman said EMS units were called to the Lexington Avenue and East 86th Street station shortly after 2 p.m. to remove the person's body from the tracks.
Trains on the 5 line were diverted to the 2 line and trains on the 4 line were diverted to the local tracks while first responders operated at the scene of the collision, transit officials said. The service changes caused delays on the 4, 5 and 6 lines.

Express trains resumed making normal stops shortly after 3:15 p.m. with residual delays, transit officials said.
