UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A person was struck by a train Wednesday morning at an Upper East Side station on the Lexington Avenue line, transit officials said.

The person was hit on the tracks near the Lexington Avenue and 59th Street station shortly after 11:30 a.m., MTA officials said. An FDNY spokesman said fire and EMS units responded to the scene for a trauma call, but could not provide information about the person's condition.

Service on the 6 line was re-routed to express tracks between Union Square and 125th Street as first responders operated at the scene on 59th Street, MTA officials said. The service changes resulted in delays on the 4 line.
